Boats are rinsed after each trip with a hose attached to a spray gun. This prevents water wastage and also reduces the use of chemicals required for cleaning. When cleaning is required those used are biodegradable.

Recycling bins are provided and are used to collect all plastic and aluminium cans.

Rubbish bin liners are biodegradable

Drivers are trained to drive boats efficiently

Boat hulls are cleaned to reduce drag and increase fuel efficiency

Smaller boats are used over winter months to reduce energy consumption

Courtesy pick ups arranged for passengers and coordinated with boat departures and managers travel from home. Avoid large campervans coming into town

Where possible boats are painted with water based paints

Non toxic antifoul is used

Motors are kept well serviced

Hand sanitizer is provided in all bathrooms to reduce water consumption and production grey water

Boat batteries are re conditioned until they are no longer viable, then recycled back with the manufacturer

‘D5’ has dual flush toilets, ‘D4’ and ‘D3’ use salt water for flushing.

Wet suits used on the Swim with the Dolphin experience are dried naturally

Seats for researchers are available on all trips

Cetacean sighting reports are kept on each trip and are given to the Department of Conservation.
